Ellsworth Racers Take 4 Podiums at the Suzuki 24 hour National Point Series Race at Vail Lake.
04.30.08
In the first race of the series, Team Grizzly Outfitters/Continental Construction won the overall title and expert class with 25 laps completed. Led by Thaddeus Josephson and Rich Chandler on their Truths, Ben Macht on an Evolve and Matt Fritz, the team logged the highest number of laps and most consistent lap times of the field. Congratulations to the team on their efforts and success!
In the women’s solo division Liz Baumgardt-Kays took third place on her Truth. Tony Barghini on his Epiphany and Stephen Phillips on his Truth led the Men’s Veteran team to the podium. The Flyin Frogs of the Navy Special Warfare team finished third in their division with an extraordinary effort by Ted Bair and Mike Everett on a Truth and Evolve. Mike’s 6 laps were all under one hour and never varied by more than 2 minutes over the entire 24 hour period.
In the Ellsworth Lap Challenge, where racers get to race a lap on an Ellsworth and see how well their times improve versus riding their current bike, Alexandria Fabbro and Witney Johnson had the most improved lap times. On her third lap of the race, Alexandria rode an Evolve and beat her previous lap times by almost 2 minutes. On his last lap of the race on Sunday morning, Witney improved his time by over 6 minutes on an Ellsworth.
The Ellsworth Team will be at the second race of the Suzuki National Point Series in Conyers, GA on May 17. Everyone is invited to come by the Ellsworth tent, demo a Truth, Epiphany or Evolve and take the Ellsworth Lap Challenge.
