PUA SAWICKI: 2007 Female Mountain Biker of the Year
Originally from Hawaii, "Pua" started racing in college as a cross country runner. Eventually she found herself deep into triathlons and road racing. After qualifying for the Ironman World Championships she moved to California. Monique met her husband Ron on a mountain bike ride and the two of them became training partners. They started adventure racing together and finally moved into mountain bike racing where she's dominated the sport on her Ellsworth Truth ever since.

Ellsworth Bikes is proud to sponsor an athlete that strikes fear in the hearts of her competitors, gives back to the community,
has achieved more this year than anybody we can think of, and on top of that, she’s a wonderful person to know and call a friend.
Pua is now a 4 time National Champion in endurance cycling.
This year she entered some short XC races even though Pua did not train for them and all, even Nationals, were top 10 finishes with a couple 1st and 2nd places. She plans to do more training and racing in this discipline for the 08 season as well as keep the momentum up in endurance racing.

This year Pua and her husband/training partner Ron will be doing clinics around the country. Taking four Ellsworth bikes,
which were used not only for bike shop demo rides but also at the events, they would let people try them out around the race
course. This, of course, drew people to Team Mata’s traveling home/shop and allowed them the opportunity to spread the
love about our partners to more people in a big way. We also did quite a few TV spots which are getting a lot of action and
great reviews on U-Tube for Park City TV, which is viewed by millions in the Salt Lake City valley. Check them out here:
